About Watson
This electorate was named after John Christian (Chris) Watson 1867-1941, who served as Australia's first Labor Prime Minister from 27 April 1904 to 17 August 1904.
Watson covers an area of approximately 37 sq km from Belfield and Campsie in the north to Hurstville in the south, Earlwood in the east and Punchbowl in the west. The main suburbs include Bardwell Park, Belmore, Campsie, Clemton Park, Earlwood, Roselands, Wiley Park and parts of Belfield, Beverly Hills, Bexley, Bexley North, Canterbury, Carlton, Hurstville, Kingsgrove, Lakemba, Narwee, Penshurst, Punchbowl and Riverwood.

Watson Redistribution
The Australian Electoral Commission has conducted a thorough review of federal electorates in New South Wales. This has resulted in some significant changes for the seat of Watson and will mean that some voters will no longer be represented by this electorate.
At the next election you will vote in the boundaries of the new electorate.
Residents of Mount Lewis, Greenacre, Chullora, Strathfield South, Croydon Park, Enfield, Burwood, and Strathfield will join the new electorate of Watson.
Residents of Earlwood, Undercliffe, Bardwell Park, Bexley North, Kingsgrove and Beverly Hills will join the electorate of Barton and will be represented by Mr Robert McClelland MP.
Residents of Riverwood, Narwee, Penshurst, and Hurstville will join the electorate of Banks and will be represented by Mr Daryl Melham MP.
