NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH MICROSOFT TO STRENGTHEN AUSTRALIA'S DIGITAL RESILIENCE
The Albanese Government has signed a landmark agreement with Microsoft to bolster Australia’s digital resilience and protect the systems that underpin our economy, services and national security.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) sets how the Australian Government and Microsoft will work together to strengthen the resilience of Australia’s digital ecosystem, from cloud infrastructure and critical government systems to emerging technologies like artificial intelligence.
In an increasingly interconnected world, disruptions to digital systems can have rapid and widespread impacts. The partnership recognises that government and industry must work together to prevent, prepare for and respond to these risks.
Initial areas of focus include subsea cable security, hyperscale cloud resilience, secure use of artificial intelligence, resilience for small businesses and critical infrastructure, and emerging cyber threats.
This partnership builds on broader collaboration between the Australian Government and Microsoft and reinforces a shared commitment to secure and reliable digital ecosystems.
This is part of the Australian Government’s plan to secure our nation's digital landscape and uplift the safety and resilience of our citizens, businesses, Government and critical infrastructure.
