CONTINUED LOW UNEMPLOYMENT UNDER ALBANESE LABOR GOVERNMENT

Under the Albanese Labor Government there are more people in jobs, they’re earning more – and with our tax plan, they’ll keep more of what they earn.

Today’s ABS Labour Force Figures shows unemployment remains low, coming in at 4.1 per cent.

The figures show the labour market softening as expected, but overall it remains resilient.

Under the previous government unemployment averaged 5.6 per cent.

More jobs have been created under this Government than any other first term government on record.

And we haven’t just seen record jobs growth.

Wages are finally moving again after a wasted decade.

Wages are growing at 4% – the highest rate in 15 years – and there have been two consecutive quarters of real wage growth.

The Albanese Labor Government wants you to earn more and keep more of what you earn.

Australians are earning more because we’ve changed workplace laws.

And they’re keeping more of what they earn because of Labor’s tax cut.

Peter Dutton and the Opposition want you to work longer for less.

We know that because they’ve said they’ll take a “targeted package of repeals” to the next election.

We know what that means:

  • Targeted against wages

  • Targeted against job security

  • Targeted against workplace safety

  • Targeted against closing the gender pay gap
